- The preliminary exam will have General Studies, Arithmetic, Logical reason Questions.
- Total Duration for Preliminary exam is 2 hours and the Total Mark for this exam 200.
- The Main Exam has Paper 2 and Paper 3.
- Paper 2 will be on English and the Duration is 2 Hours.
- Paper 3 will be on Urdu/Bengali/Hindi/Nepali and the duration is 1 & 1/2 Hours.

The West Bengal Police is one of the two police forces of the Indian State of West Bengal. (The other is the Kolkata Police, which has a separate jurisdiction.)The West Bengal Police was reorganized under the Police Act 1861 during the British Raj. It is headed by an officer designated as the Director-General of Police who reports to the State Government through the Home (Police) Department. Shri P Narajnayan, an IPS officer of the 1987 batch, has been the DG & IGP of West Bengal Police since March 8, 2021.
