After the demise of Tippu Sultan in 1799, the British perceived the case of Krishnaraja Wodeyar III, the child of Chamaraja Wodeyar to the seat of the State. Poornaiah kept on being the Diwan and Barry Close was the Resident. The State was separated into three ‘Subhas’ each heavily influenced by a Subhedar, who was the top dog and furthermore the Judge in his area. ‘Subhas’ were separated into Districts and the last into Taluks. On October 21, 1831, the Governor-General of India Bentick gave an announcement and expected organization of Mysore for East India Company on the charge that Raja was unequipped for dealing with the issues of the State. The organization of Mysore was dependent on a Board of Commissioners which incorporated a Senior Commissioner and a Junior Commissioner. This Board was helped by Diwan in monetary issues and the Resident in political relations of the Ruler. This Board was canceled in June 1832 and the organization of the State was endowed to one single Commissioner. After the demise of Krishnaraja Wodeyar III in 1868, the British reestablished the seat to his took on child Chamarajendra Wodeyar just in March 1881. In 1881 the post of the Commissioner was annulled and British Resident was delegated in at Mysore. A post of Diwan was made and he was to be the top of the managerial hardware with a gathering of two counsels. The above arrangement of organization proceeded till the Maharaja executed the instrument of promotion to the Dominion of India on 24-9-1947. Under the Constitution of India, Mysore State was Part ‘B’ State with the Maharaja assigned as the ‘RAJPRAMUKH’.
