The exam pattern for the NCERT LDC Exam consists of a Written Test and Skill Test. The total marks allotted for the written test is 150 marks. In that, each subject has an allotted mark separately. Candidates who have cleared the written exam will be shortlisted for Skill Test conducted by the Council. The NCERT LDC Exam Pattern is given in detail below.

NCERT LDC Exam Pattern for the Written Test:
- There are three sections in the Written exam – General English, General knowledge, and Written Expression
- General English and General Knowledge – Objective type and Written expression – Descriptive type
- In the written expression, Candidates can choose their language as English or Hindi
- The written exam is conducting for 150 marks
- Each section is of 50 marks
- Duration of the exam is 3 hours
NCERT LDC Exam Pattern for Skill test:
- Candidates who crack the written test will get shortlist for the skill test
- The Skill test (On computer) – to check the typing speed
- Candidates must have a typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi
- The typing speed should correspond to 10500 KDPH/ 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word
