About Board:
South Central Railway was framed on 02.10.1966 when Hubli and Vijayawada Divisions of Southern Railway and Sholapur and Secunderabad Divisions of Central Railway were cut out and converged into another Zone. In this manner, the Guntakal Division of Southern Railway was connected with South Central Railway on 02.10.1977, and Sholapur Division was remerged with Central Railway. Secunderabad Division was part of two Divisions viz. Secunderabad and Hyderabad on 17.02.1978.
The South Central Railway road has 6 Divisions, viz, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded. South Central Railway transcendently serves the conditions of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Maharashtra and, to a restricted degree, segments of Karnataka, Tamilnadu, and Madhya Pradesh states. The South Central Railway is one of the 18 zones of Indian Railways. The zone’s local has spread over the conditions of Maharashtra, Telangana, and a few parts of Madhya Pradesh. It has three divisions under its organization, including Nanded, Secunderabad, Hyderabad. It was re-sorted out in 2019, and the divisions of Vijayawada, Guntur, and Guntakal railroad station were isolated to shape South Coast Railway zone.
